Wood grain has much in common with strands of yarn in a woven state. Although wood is rigid and fabric is flexible, they share a cellulose composition. In their natural state and colours, they stray into each other’s palettes. Through reinterpreting the motifs of traditional Scottish fabrics in wood, new exciting patterns and optical effects emerge. A contemporary variant of the art of inlay.
